The Philosophy

Establishing a positive and sound personal identity is crucial to the long-term development and progress of a child. Every aspect of our lives is affected by our self-identity. And the only solid foundation for OUR identity is to be found in GOD's identity.

A key figure of modern philosophy during the 'enlightenment', Descartes, said, "I think, therefore I am." As a Christian, we realise that it is more accurate to say, "God is, therefore I am." And that statement summarises the developmental premise of Kseed!

Kseed is founded on the belief that as God is the source of all things, who we are is directly linked to who He is, and our relationship to Him! Increasingly in modern times, people's sense of who they are is based heavily on what they do. As Christians, the opposite should apply to us – what we do should be determined by who we are!

Since we are created in God's image and according to His likeness, who we are should be a reflection of the nature and character of God.

"GOD IS therefore I AM"

The Intention

John Calvin, in his classic work Institutes of the Christian Religion, said: "It is certain that man never achieves a clear knowledge of himself unless he has first looked upon God's face."

At it's foundation, the Kseed program references the names of God to identify the key characteristics of God's nature. Then it looks at what the bible says about us in relation to God's character. For example:

"God is love .. I am loved"

Jesuit Francis Xavier famously said, "Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man". Proverbs 22:6 says it even better: "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."

The aim of Kseed is to support and equip parents with kid-friendly resources that will help them plant spiritual seeds that will have a positive eternal impact on the lives of their children.

The Materials

Kseed's proprietary "5-step Devotion Cards" use a deliberate process designed to help kids take the biblical truths from concept right through to application. First, parents are encouraged to read the THINK ABOUT IT section to their kids. This section uses bite-sized bible stories to create a perfect context for God-centred conversations.

Next, you'll pose a number of practical questions from the TALK ABOUT IT section, which encourage the kids to share their thoughts and ideas. This section provides a relaxed opportunity for kids to express their thoughts and curiosities. You'll be amazed at some of the things your kids want to talk about!

The SHOUT IT section is the kid's favourite! The words we speak have great impact on our lives, so providing the opportunity for our kids to confess positive, faith-building words into their everyday life is powerful – it's even better when they shout them out!

Ultimately, God's word is the greatest force in existence. Sowing God's word into our kids through the REMEMBER IT section will be life-changing.

Finally, the PRAY IT section of the Devotion Cards gives the kids a practical application for the truths and concepts they've just discussed. And establishing a habit of thanking God, praying for others and for themselves, is crucial to your kids developing a devotional life.

Supporting Materials

In addition to the 5-step Devotion Cards, each Kseed pack comes complete with a range of supporting resources that encourage kids to complete the program ad take the principles they've learned into their everyday lives.

There's a Daily Confession Poster that takes the key SHOUT IT confessions from the devotion cards, and turns them into a powerful daily confession that the kids will love to shout out over breakfast, in the car, or while you're trying to settle them for bed each night!

The kids will also receive a Reminder Wristband. They look cool, and provide a constant reminder of the Daily Confessions.

The pack also comes with a Progress Poster so the kids can keep track of their progress through the 48 Kseed topics. Once they've finished the materials, kids are encouraged to send the completed Progress Poster into Kseed, and we will send them the Kseed Certificate of Completion! Completing the Kseed program is meaningful, and your kids will deserve some recognition for their efforts.

The Curricumulum

The Kseed content has been structured into 12 monthly topics, comprising 4 weekly subtopics within each.

Each subtopic contains 5 daily devotion cards – one for each day of the work/school week. Generally, a single bible story is used for an entire week, with each day taking a different view of that story to deliver different practical lessons and discussions.

Following is a summary of the topics covered in the Kseed Program:
